My Dear Parish Family,

Our midsummer parish mission was quite a success as approximately 200 folks gathered each evening to listen to our very engaging speaker, Dan Palmieri. This young Catholic father of four little ones under the age of five kept the attention of all in attendance with his moving stories of historic and saintly figures that contributed to our Church and country. I am so happy we were able to offer this spiritual opportunity to you all.

For the young ones of our parish, all summer has been busy with our Religious Education Summer Academy and over 20 camps from volleyball to performing arts, strength and conditioning to football, track and field to robotics. Well, you get the idea that our parish and its schools are alive and well. All year long we strive to provide the very best educational, spiritual, athletic and cultural experiences for the young people entrusted to our care and formation.

Last week, Fr. Ghesu, CM was here at all masses making an appeal for our support of his order’s plan to build a seminary in Madagascar for the formation of men to the sacred Priesthood. We thank you for your generosity to his cause. Saint Joseph’s has always been especially gracious with these appeals. We will be able to publish in next week’s bulletin the amount that was collected. So, once again, Thank you, God bless you and Oremus pro invicem.

Fr. Scott Shaffer
