A Faith Sharing Community

St Joseph’s Parish, a faith sharing community, provides a Faith Formation Program for children (grades 1 through 8) who attend public school. This program offers our children the opportunity to share in our Catholic heritage, rich in scripture, liturgy, doctrine and tradition. Our Faith Formation Program includes:

  1. Sacramental preparation programs for Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation, involving parents and children
  2. A summer intensive program for grades 1 - 8.

We are pleased to announce the dates of our Summer Religious Education Academy for grades 1 through 8:

Monday June 25, 2018 through Friday June 29, 2018

OR

Monday July 9, 2018 through Friday July 13, 2018

Parents have a choice of ONE of these two weeks

Classes will be available for grades 1 through 8

Registration fees are $150 per child; a Sacrament Fee of $40 will be applied to all students in grades 2 and 8.

Re-registration forms will be mailed home for RETURNING students and may be returned by mail to the Religious Education Office. If the Academy Activity card was handed in – THANK YOU. If you still have the activity card, you may mail it in with the registration form.

NEW STUDENT registration will begin on Monday January 15, 2018 and will be accepted during regular business hours Monday through Friday until February 28th. Baptism and Communion certificates (if applicable) are required at the time of registration. This includes children who will be starting First Grade in the fall of 2018.

Families must be registered parishioners of Saint Joseph’s Church {restrictions DO apply; please call our office for details}.

Children and parents are encouraged to participate in all parish activities. The focus of the program is to guide our children in forming a deeper relationship with God and the community through the Scriptures and the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist.

Faith Formation is a life-long journey sustained and strengthened through Prayer, Celebrating the Sunday Liturgy, receiving the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist, and Service to the needs of others.

Certified teachers, who are practicing Catholics, are always welcome to join our catechetical team. Catechists’ Programs of training and certification are provided. For additional information, call the Religious Education Office at 732-349-0018, ext. 2225 or 2236.

Dates for the Summer Religious Education Academy will be announced in the bulletin in late December, We will begin accepting early registrations for the summer of 2018 in January. The form will be available on our website or it can be mailed by request. Pleases send the registration form by email, or print and return these forms along with the completed Academy Card by mail or in person to the Religious Education Office.

Parents must register NEW students to the program in person. Registration in the parish is required. If you live outside of our parish boundaries you must be registered in the parish one year prior to enrollment. Original baptism certificates and communion certificates (if applicable) must be presented at the time of registration.
